If you compare it to others cities our size, the answer is no. It’s not a big issue overall. However there are spots in Spokane known for crime after dark like any town. East Sprague is sketchy at night and so is the areas below the I-90 overpasses, and under-developed parts of downtown.
Spokane is a relatively nice city. It is a working town with a lot of railroad and manufacturing to be found the down town area is nice. The River Walk is nice and there are/we’re a nice collection of shops to be found. It is ideally oriented to visit the surrounding territory.
